is God an omniscient God

Posted by atomicbabe on November 16, 2006, 12:32:59 AM(Read 135 times)
saw this somewhere and it got me thinkin

If he is an Omniscient (knows all things) God, then does he know our future?
If he knows our future, then does it mean our future is predetermined?
If yes, does that mean we have no control over it?
If yes, then what is the point of living?
Is life just a silly game?

Or maybe God doesnt know all things. Maybe he knows Most things but ignorant (or say... unknowing) of our moral decisions...
what do u think?

well here is what i believe...There is one powerful thing that God has given us...it's called free will...We have the choice to do whatever we want...that is what seperates man from animals....But the thing is God is Omniscient, and he knows the begining and the end.. the way we get to the end...differs, but he already knows what the end is...that is where free will comes in..it's kinda like a flowchart, a decision will lead to an expected result right..? The way we get there could be through different paths correct? Hence the purpose of living...God wishes that All believe in him, but he already knows that is not going to be possible so.....

can some of you shade light on this for me

our almighty knowing all he knows, how could he give us free will, knowing that some of us, based on our free will, will be sent to hell

feels a bit cruel set of ideas coming to play here

i am sure if my parents knew enough that some of my attributes were destined to be my Achilles heels, they would try 100% to circumvent those issues, even if it comes with the loss of those attributes, especially, if i don't know of those attributes, i would not miss them either

so what is a free will good to if it at the end of this short life leads to a forever panishment

as far as i am considered god could in that case have let the free issue out of the equation, and yet he did not, so where does this leave us

well yeah there lots o things we never get to understand but then God isnt a tyrant thats y he gave us the idea of freewill if there wasnt free will thre wud be no sin in the first place cos then adam and eve wud neva have commited the sin of eating the fruit but then God dint want to impose anything upom us so we decided our own destinys..

that is the normal cute answer one gets
but you still have not answered the question of why one choose to give me an attribute that might ultimately lead me to hell
all this whilst there is a choice of not giving that attribute and thus saving me from this mess
anyway the question of being tyrant is an interpretation you are doing born with free will, if you did not had the free will and framework to think of it, then you would never have discovered this issue
tell me for instance, god never gave you a clue on how to find him, so you don't have any way of reasoning about it, i suppose the same issue is raised here
anyway this leads us to the alley of subjectivity so, i rest my case and thank you for a rewarding discussion
keep up!

God is omnipotent. The thing you say about he knowing the end from the beginning is that he has every desirable end for us all better than we have ever imagined,so if you think,wow...my future is bright he has something brighter in store4e for you if only you do something..it is called "ABSOLUTE SURRENDER".Holla back if you need to talk in private on messenger, my ID is "asadaduke"
